We love camping here - lots of activities for the kids on holiday weekends; it's packed but the kids enjoy it. On other weekends its not very busy and usually quiet - perfect for relaxing by a fire in the evenings
Last year we bought our first camper and decided to try a campground with seasonal sites. The staff have been nice and helpful when you need something. Plenty of activities and 2 pools. Bands were decent, fireworks great and there was even a carnival. We are starting our second season and looking forward to it. The owners and staff have been working to improve the park and it is showing this year. Landscaping, signs, new paint and some renovations are starting to look good. We are planning on being here awhile. Thanks Mountain Pines for the home away from home. My wife loves the place.
I would not recommend this campground and won't be returning.
Parking lot style campground. Had some music thing going and even though we were all the way on the opposite side from it we heard every thump thump of the bass for 4 hours. Finally ended after 10p.m. Lots of golf carts and noise from them. Bright headlights kept hitting our spot and the beep beep of them backing up got tired real fast. It stayed damp and moist in that valley even though we had no rain.
This is a review of our 2016 fall visit. We're avid campers and this is as close to a non biased and honest review as I can make:
Not the worst campground we've been to but far from the best (2nd worst to be honest). Staff was okay, I suppose. Although I went to ask one quick question at the office and the lady took a call in the middle of me talking and kept me waiting for atleast 5 minutes, so that left a 'bad taste'. The seasonals were the least welcoming I've encountered in all my years of camping. Also a large majority of the Campgrounds seem more like a mobile home park than a campground with units squeezed together with what seems to be no continuity and just an over all trashy look. There was loud music playing late into the night and little regard by the seasonals for the speed limit in the campground (golf carts, not cars). There were a few golf carts that seemed to not have any mufflers on them at all and were utterly obnoxious, especially late on Friday night and one at about 6am on Saturday. I understand that some of this may be out of the Campgrounds hands but this was my honest experience.
Very clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Kids loved it. We've been there twice this year.
The positives: A small portion of rental spots did have a little shade and the bath house was clean and well maintained.
